                                    VETERAN CITY WORKER, VETERAN OF WALES, DIES.
       H. E. Llewellyn, 87, of 256 North Seventh West street, an employee of this city for more than 35 years, died Tuesday at the family home. He was a native of Wales but came to Utah in 1872. He was an active church worker and sang in the Tabernacle Choir for many years.
       Surviving are the following children: William J., Mrs. Carl Mosberg, both of Los Angeles, Calif;, E.H., L.E. Llewellyn, both of Chicago, Ill., Joseph F. Llewellyn, of Butte, Montana, Mrs. R.                                           Funeral for Musician Will Be Held on Friday In 16th Ward Chapel
       Funeral services for H. E. Llewellyn, 87, active Church worker and musician, who died Tuesday, will be held in the Sixteenth ward chapel, Fifth West and North Temple Streets, at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30.
       Speakers will include Pres. Nephi L. Morris, Bishop Edwin F. Parry, Prof. Henry Giles, Evan Stephens and Bishop Joseph Lake, who will be in charge.
       Because of the devotion of Mr. Llewellyn to music, a special musical program has been arranged, including selections by Mrs. Lizzie Thomas Edward, Miss Jessie Evans, Miss Jessie Williams, John James, the Evans Trio, Mrs. Reta Burnham, Fred Reese and the ward choir.
       Mr. Llewellyn was a native of Wales and came to Utah in 1873. He had been a resident of Salt Lake for 43 years. He had been devoted to music since boyhood. As a young man he toured England and Wales with various glee clubs, twice singing in the Crystal Palace, London, in competition with leading choirs of the country. For 30 years he was a member of the Tabernacle Choir. He was active in Church work and held the office of high priest at the time of his death.

                                  Llewellyn Funeral to be Held on Sunday at the Sixteenth Ward Hall.
       Funeral services for Margaret Thomas Llewellyn, 69, widow of Hopkin E. Llewellyn, who died at a local hospital Thursday evening, will be held in the Sixteenth Ward Chapel on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m., Bishop Joseph Lake officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery under the direction of the Kingdon and Lees funeral directors.
       The body may be viewed at the family residence 256 North Seventh West from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Llewellyn was born in Wales Oct. 20, 1858. She came to the United States when 10 years old. She has been a resident of the Sixteenth ward for the last 25 years. OBITUARY:                               S.L. SOCIAL, BUSINESS LEADER DIES
       George H. Llewelly, 58, prominent Salt Lake City salesman and social leader, died Sunday night at 11:55 p.m. following a lingering illness.
       A lover of sports of all kinds, Mr. Llewellyln was president of the Capitol Bowling League for 15 years. He also was a member of the Antelope Island No. 3, Salt Lake City branch, Intermountain Footprinters Association. His inerest also carried through into Boy Scout work.
       One of the first organizers of the Salt Lake Trolley League, he became their first president. This league was the first amateur baseball association in the mountain west and one of the first in the country. He was also the organizer and first promoter of the now famous Elks Boxing Tournament.
       He was a past exalted ruler, Lodge No. 85, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and past district deputy grand exalted ruler for Utah, of the Elks.
       He was an elder in the Harvard Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
       Mr. Llewellyn, who had made his home at 263 Williams Ave., had been a Salesman with the Arthur Frank Company for the past 30 years.
       Born Aug 3, 1893, in Salt Lake City, he was a son of H. E. and Margaret Evan Llewellyn. He married Harriet Haslam Nov. 1913, in Salt Lake City.
       Survivors include his two daughers, Mrs. A. Wayne (June) Hallstrom and Mrs. L. Eugene (Carol) Stapley, both of Salt Lake City, and seven grandchildren.   Oct. 8, 1951. Deseret News.

OBITUARY:   Mr. George H. Llewelly, 58, prominent business man and director of the Cambrian Association, died on October 7 at his home in Salt Lake City, following a somewhat protracted illness. He was past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and protective Order of Elks, Salt Lake Lodge No. 85. He had sereved as president of the Salt Lake Executive Culbs and was a member of the Antelope Island Chapter No. 3, International Footprint Associaton.
       He was also identified with a number of other fraternal and civic organizations. Following an early career in the newspaper and advertising work, he became associated with the Arthur Frank Clothing firm in 1921 and remained with this firm for upwards of 30 years.
       His father, a native of Aberdare, South Wales, was for years a member of the Salt Lake Tabernacle Choir and was also a member of Caradoc's Choir in his native land, which in the early 1870,s won first prize in a grand choral contest at the Crystal Palace in London. The mother, Annie Phillips, came to Utah from Merthyr Tydfil. The father, whil a young man, worked alongside Gwilym Gwent, Welsh composer and auther of the glee, "Yr Hal" ("The Summer:). ["Y Drych"]
       Funeral services were held on October 11 under the ausices of the L.D.S. Harvard Ecclesiastical Ward, with internment in the City Cemetery where members of the Elk's Lodge conducted burial services. Survivors include his widow, Harriet Haslam, whom he married on Nov 19, 1913; two daughers and seven grandhcildren, three brothers and six sisters.  Jan 15, 1952.

       Final Rites for Gomer Thomas Llewellyn, 44, who died Thursday at his home, will be conducted tomorrow at 2:p..m. in the Sugar House Ward, 1950 Twelfth East Street, but Bishop Ernest A. Nelson. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
       Born in Salt Lake, June 8, 1895, a son of Hopkin E. Margaret Evans Llewellyn, Mr. Llewellyn had lived here all his life. He was a World War veteran and a past officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was active in Church work.
       Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Irene N. Llewellyn of Salt Lake: two brothers, George H. Llewellyn of Salt Lake, and Joseph Llewellyn of Butte, Mont.; a sister, Mrs. J.J.                                                               Salt Lake Man Found  Dead in Home
       Gomer Thomas Llewellyn, 44, employee of the Hubbard Den Jewelers, was found dead at his home, 1236 E. 21st South Stret, Thursday at 4 p.m.
       Salt Lake City police detectives reported the man had taken poison. The body was discovered by members of the family who returned home after attending a theater.    Salt Lake Tribune. Feb 23, 1940, p.25.
