OCCUPATION: 1850 - Steam Boat Engineer 1880 - Ranchman NOTES: 1. Civil War records indicate that George enlisted in Company G, 57th Illinois Infantry Regiment (Company G was recruited from Cook County, Illinois, and from Iowa) on 21 January 1862 at Chicago, Illinois. He re-enlisted as a veteran soldier on 4 March 1864 at Chicago, Illinois. He was mustered out of service on 7 July 1862 as a Sergeant. 2. George entered service as a Private and left the service as a Sergeant. Was in important battles such as the Battle of Shiloh, the seige of Atlanta, and several others. 2. At the time of the 1850 Federal Census, a young single woman named Virginia McMillen (age 20, born in PA) was living with the Morris family. She may have been a sister to Rachel, the wife of George H. Morris.

NOTE: McMillen is the probable surname for Rachel. Virginia McMillen, born 1830, was living with Rachel and George in 1850.

OCCUPATION: 1920: Farmer 1900: Silver Miner 1880: Prospector NOTES: 1. Frank's birthplace listed as Pennsylvania in 1900, 1920 and 1930. 2. Birth date listed as Jun 1855 on 1900 Census. 3. At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, Frank was living with his daughter, Frances Barker. His son, Philip, was also living in this family. 4. Family records suggest that Frank and Johanna were married on 26 June 1890, but the marriage records of Mesa County, Colorado give a marriage date of 25 June 1890. 5. Land grant patents total 360 acres of land near Hailey, Idaho. Map shows that they were adjacent to Shoestring Road.
