NOTES:
    1. Civil War records indicate that George enlisted in Company G, 57th Illinois Infantry Regiment (Company G was recruited from Cook County, Illinois, and from Iowa) on 21 January 1862 at Chicago, Illinois. He re-enlisted as a veteran soldier on 4 March 1864 at Chicago, Illinois. He was mustered out of service on 7 July 1862 as a Sergeant.

2. George entered service as a Private and left the service as a Sergeant. Was in important battles such as the Battle of Shiloh, the seige of Atlanta, and several others.

    2. At the time of the 1850 Federal Census, a young single woman named Virginia McMillen (age 20, born in PA) was living with the Morris family. She may have been a sister to Rachel, the wife of George H. Morris.

    5. Land grant patents total 360 acres of land near Hailey, Idaho. Map shows that they were adjacent to Shoestring Road.
