    2. Buried in the Oconee Cemetery behind the stadium in Athens.
    3. His wife, Mamie Dobbs, had died some years before, and a woman from the office of the hardware store (still called Armstrong and Dobbs in 2003) took offense for some reason and shot him. Mamie Fullilove says the officials checked closely and could find no evidence of an affair.
