He fought in the battle of the Argonne Forest in France where he was gassed and suffered the effects of it most of his life. DEATH: 28 Mar 1958 at 6 p.m. in a car near Arco, Butte County, Idaho. (Ray was being taken to the Vertan's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, where he had undergone surgery and received medical treatment for several years. Leslie and Luella Park, (his brother and sister-in-law) and Ross Sommers (a nephew) were with him at the time of his death. He passed away lying in the back seat of Leslie's car in the desert near Arco, Idaho. (Recorded by Luella Park at time of happening.) BURIAL: Sugar City Cemetery, Madison County, Idaho.
