NAME: Captain William R. "Old Billy" MORRIS NOTES: 1. William was guardian of Kelly's Post and founder and defender of Fort Morris, the first fort on the Great Kanawha River.

BURIAL: 1. Henry is buried at Lockwood, Nicholas County, in a field across from Fairview Baptist Church along with two of his daughters who were scalped by Indians.
NOTES: Leonard was an Early Pioneer, and an Indian spy in Greenbrier County between 1778-1780.
NOTES: 1. Joshua fought in the Revolutionary War.
NOTES: 1. Elizabeth's husband, Michael, was supervising the harvest of food for the people in Fort Randolph, Mason County, Virginia. The foraging party was ambushed and Michael was murdered 17 May 1792, along with a relative whose last name was Yoakum. The date of Michael's murder was the same day his youngest son was born.
NOTES: John was a Captain in the Revolutionary War.
