Pettys, Sr.:
He was listed in the Rhode Island Colonial Census of 1774 at Hopkinton,
R.I., with a family of 6 males under 16 years o f age and 1 female above
16 years of age and 2 females under 16 years of age. Not one of his
children is found in the birth records of any of the nearby t owns and
were doubltess never recorded.

"David Petteys, born 1735, married Mar y Colegrove in Exeter, R.I., 23
April 1758. Came to Greenwich Community circa 1772 (Washington County,
NY). Died circa 1819.
Children of David Petteys & Mary (Colegrove) Petteys:

c. Jo hn, born 1765, died 1843, married Jane Burdick
