                   He was a pioneer settler of Kentucky, and at an early period settled in Bourbon, afterward Mason county, on the Ohio river, where he built the first brick house erected in the county. He represented Bourbon county in the Virginia legislature in 1790, was elected to represent Kentucky on its admission as a state, in the 2d, 3d and 4th congresses, 1791-97. He was also elected to the Kentucky senate in 1792.

Biographical Directory of the Inited States Congress 1774-Present.ORR, Alexander Dalrymple, (1761 - 1835) ORR, Alexander Dalrymple, (nephew of William Grayson), a Representative from Kentucky; born in Alexandria, Loudoun County, Va., November 6, 1761; attended the local schools; about 1782 moved to Bourbon County, Ky. Valentine Peers sold to Obadiah Ragsdale a piece of land within the survey of George Evans. The land is under doubtful title and A. D. Orr binds himself to pay Peers what Ragsdale demands. Orr binds himself with the penalty of 200 dollars. March 24th 1807. Agreement for Ragsdale. Box 1 Folder 4 Bond, [undated].
