Note;  Richard Aldridge is kin to Anness Lea and Eunice Lea also...
William Lea was known as Captain William Lea of South Hico and he was from
England..    Anness Lea married John McNeill first time and and James Cochran
the second time .. She has Anness Cochran on tombstone at Lea's Chapel in
Person Co NC..  George Lea and Jane Douglas married 24 Feburary 1785 and
sealed 8 Feb 1977 in SL.... Alexander Rose married Unicy Lea of Person Co.. ,

Eunice Rose (daughter of Alexander Rose)
Capt William Lea first shows up on the records in North Carolina in Dec 1753 as
William Lea of Ornge Co, Planter.. when a survey was ordered for a grant to him
of 332 acres of land on both sides of South Hico Creek in what is now Person
Co NC.. Two years later in april 1755 William was appointed a Captain in North
Carolina Militia and thereafter  waas regularly referred to in the county
records as Capt William Lea.. Beverly Rose,a grandson of Capt Lea,Beverely was
a son of Capt Lea's daughter Eunice, left a memoir in which he tells that Capt
Lea came to North Carolina from the Spotsylvania/King and Queen area of
Virginia. Beverely says  in his memooir: The name of my mother was Eunice Lea .
Her father and mother were both natives of England, they came over from England
to this country and settled on the Mattaponi River above Yorktown,Viginia;from
thence my mother's father William Lea removed from Virginia to North Carolina
and sellled in Person County NC.. In process of settling the estate of John and
Ann Lea of King and Queen Co Va, Thomas Crethers conceyed 100 acres of land in
Spotsylvania to William Lea orphan of John and Ann Lea.  William  settled on
the 100 acres, married Frances(we do not know her last name) and apparently
began to raise a family.. In 1752 the records of Spotsylvania Co Va show that
William Lea and Frances his wife sold 100 acres whereon the said Lea now lives
to Thomas White.. William and Eunice both signed their names to the deed, which
means that they both had recieved some education.. In 1753 William Lea Show up
in Person Co NC.. From a notation in the Alexander Rose family bible,he married
Eunice daughter of Capt Williiam Lea. Alexander Rose had a child born Called
Duncan- was baptiized by Revd Mr George Mickle John.. Present Capt William Lea
and his spouse Frances and etc..
