Notes for JUDGE JOHN WRIGHT:the will for Judge John Wright Parish of Hamilton Farquier Co Virginia dated June 1 1785 proved Feb 27 1792 pg 219-220abstracts: John Wright of the Parish of Hamilton Will dated June 1 1785 to my son James my land lying on the east side of the run, with part of tract of land whereon I now live in the County of Farquier, slave to granddaughter Betsy Wright the daughter of James, Slaves to daughters Mary and Rosamond Wright, the plantation whereon I now live and all the land I hold lying on the West side of the side run above mentioned to be divided between the two a they can agree, In case of their death, without heirs, to go to son James, slaves ,household furniture and livestock. Sons William and John 20 schillings the reason why I have left my two sons no more is that I gave them both land which they sold. Daughter Elizabeth Parlow, should she ever apply that then my executors pay her 15 pounds out of my estate. my Wife Elizabeth to have all estate above mentioned during her life and then divided as directed. Sons James and daughters Mary and Rosamond to be executors signed John Wright witness George Maddex, John Nelson, Francis Latham William Kerns Proved 27 Feb 1792 by Order of George Maddux and William Kerns. James Wright made oath and with Thomas Keith as his security, was granted a certificate to obtain probate.
