He brought with him to Ipswich his wife and five children, one of whom was a child of one or the other of them by a previous marriage. His will was dated 1 Mar 1643 and proved 26 Mar 1644. He died in the winter of 1643.Robert was the master and owner of the ship "Angel Gabriel", which was an armed ship that came as consort of the ship "James" in August of 1635. Both the "James" and the "Angel Gabriel" were caught in a terrible storm and had to part company. The "James" anchored near the Isles of Shoals, MA, and the "Angel Gabriel" anchored off Pemaquid, on the coast of Maine. The "James" finally made it to the Boston Harbor but the "Angel Gabriel" was a complete loss. With Robert on the journey were his 3 nephews, John Burnham, Thomas Burnham, and Robert Burnham, sons of his sister, Mary who was the wife of Robert Burnham.
