                   NOTES:  "Six Generations of Bettie Lee (Carlton) and Edwyl Llewellyn".  John Llewellyn was from Wales.  He came to America with Lord Baltimore in 1628 and settled in St. Mary's County, Maryland.  

According to the book, "Jamestown and St. Mary's, Buried Cities of Romance" (page 224), by Henry Chandlee Forman, John Llewellyn owned a residence on Middle Street in St. Mary's, Maryland.  It also gives John Llewellyn the title of Clerk of Council.

According to "Side-lights on Maryland History", Vol I, p.234-236, by Hester Dorsey Richardson, Mr. John Llewellyn was appointed Clerk and Register of Land Office by Charles Calvert, the third Lord Baltimore, on April 19, 1680.
