0Funeral Services were held at Berg Mortuary, Orem, Utah Friday, November 15, 1996. Interment St. George Cemetery, 700 East Tabernacle Street, St. George, Utah. Cleola was orphaned as a child by the death of both parents at a railroad crossing in Arizona. She lived with sisters, graduating from Phoenix High School, and was introduced to Andrew, her husband to be. She was married and subsequently sealed in the Arizona Temple. President Harry Payne, the temple president, reportedly scolded her for having only one child. As a result, Sandra was born, and other sisters followed. She and "Andy" retired to Hurricane, Utah, and then moved to Morgan Hill, CA. Her husband died in 1979, and she soon moved to Utah to be in apartments in Provo and Centerville, Utah on her own. When her health began to fail, kindly daughter Annene and husband Michael Hogge made room for her in their home. Unfounded reports of mistreatment of Mother, accusers unknown, prompted Annene to give up her excellent care of Cleola, who came under the care of Julia and Richard Hirsch, Orem, Utah, where she remained until her death. While she became forgetful of family and friends the last year or so, Mother is best remembered for her unswerving faith in the Lord and her attention to the Gospel, which she taught her daughters and all. So far as is known, all temple ordinances have been performed and are recorded.
