                   REFERENCE: SHED, Frank E., 1921, Daniel Shed Genealogy; pages 8-10, was
underage at the death in 1450 of his father, by whose will he was left a house
in the parish of Cherwyth.  John Schedde has bee found mentioned in numerous
entries in the court rolls of the manor of Sudbury between 1471 and 1483, but
does not appear in those of Henry VII (1485-1509), ostly related to debt. About
1485 John Schedde removed from Sudbury to his place in Chawreth (now Broxted)
in Essex.  John Schedd was married about 1480, but the name of his wife is
unknown and evidences have been found of only one child, John, born about 1480,
probably Sundbury, Co. Suffolk.

                   REFERENCE: SHED, Frank E., 1921, Daniel Shed Genealogy; pages 10-13, he paid
much the largest tax in the Chawreth Parish, 1523-1524, of which he was the
wealthiest inhabitant (except the lords of two manors) and he was also one of
the two collectors of the subsidy for that parish which aounted to 5:11:0
pounds, so John Shedd paid nearly a fifth of the whole tax of the place.  The
fact that he had so large an amount in goods, rather than in lands, would
indicate that he was in some kind of business rather than engaged in farming.
He and his wife Joane had six children between about 1508 to 1520, with Thomas
being their first child born about 1508.
