When Ruth Lilienstern completed high school, her parents sent her to live with her Grandparents who lived in Cincinnati, Ohio so she could attend The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. During that time, her Uncle David who was only about 10 years older returned home from Europe where he had been attending art schools. From what I remmember from my Mother is one of her best school friends at the Conservatory begin dating Uncle David and her Uncle introduced her to one of his friends who she dated. When David and her friend became engaged, the gentleman she had been dating asked her to marry him. Her Grandfather Samuel was all in favor of it but she wasn't. Naturally they were all Jewish. Samuel called his daughter Sara and informed her that Ruth did not obey him Sara rushed to Cincinnati and after a heated discussion, she & Ruth returned to Mt.Pleasant, This was about 1909.
