From FindAGrave.com: Morris, his wife Mathilda, and their four sons George, Eugene, Henry, and Oscar moved to Mount Pleasant in 1881. He bought an interest in Hargrove's General Merchandise which was located on the corner of North Jefferson and East Second Streets. A charter for a banking institution was issued to the First National Bank, in Mount Pleasant, TX on April 5, 1892. Morris was on the first Board of Directors. Passport application: Born at Ortenberg, Germany on 14 Feb 1842. Immigrated aboard the Annapolis from Havre, France, on or about May 1 1852. Resided 48 years uninterrupted in the US. Lived in New York City; Clayton, Alabama; and Mt Pleasant, Texas. Naturalized at New York on 26 Oct 1866 Passport application for 3 months, made 4 May 1900. Description: Age 58, 5'4". Dark Brown eyes, Medium nose, medium mouth, medium chin, almost entirely gray hair (originally black), Medium complexion, round face. Dallas News - Morris Lilienstern Dead - Retired Banker and Business Man of Mt Pleasant passes away at Paris. Paris Texas, Feb 22, Morris Lilienstern of Mount Pleasant, aged 74 years, died at a sanitarium in Paris this morning and the body was taken back to his home this afternoon for burial, accompanied by his three sons, E. S., George and Oscar Lilienstern, and a number of friends. The deceased was a wealthy retired capitalist and philanthropist who had lived in Mount Pleasant many years. E. S. Lilienstern is president of the Guaranty State Bank of Mt. Pleasant. ---M. Lilienstern, aged 74 years, of this city and one of the best known business men, bankers and cotton dealers in this part of the state, who died at Paris today, will be buried in Mount Pleasant wednesday. Mr. Lilienstern was a resident of this city for forty years and leaves an estate valued at $100,000. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Werener of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Messrs. Eugene, George, and Oscar Lilienstern of this city.

In 1900, Eugene was elected Casier of the First National Bank. He stayed with this bank until Guaranty State Bank was organized in January 1913. He was the First President of Guaranty State Bank.
