Dear Judy,
A very big thank you for sending me your current family tree which isso
interesting. The fact that your Weinbergers came from Czernovitz alsomakes
me feel there may be some link.
However I cannot see an immediate connection.
My g. grandmother born c. 1840s-50s (a guess), was Blinnie Weinberger.She
married Jacob Flinker who was the medical officer of health inCzernovitz
around the end of last/beginning of this century. I don't know thename of
Blinnie's parents unfortunately. She had several younger Weinbergersiblings
called Max, Heinrich, Siegfried, Sophie and others. Blinnie Weinbergerlived
all her married life in Czernovitz, but her Weinberger family werethought
to have originally come from 'in/nearer Hungary', not Czernovitz whichis
interesting as you also state your family was born in Austria
(Austro-Hungary?). Weinberger appears to be a very frequently usedname
from Hungary in particular.
I will let you know if any further information comes to light.
