                   Elsa Kuusijärvi was the mother of Anna Timo.  She came from the Finnish town of Jokijärvi.  Her parents came from the town of Taivalkoski.

A letter tells us that she came from Jokijärvi, which is near Pudasjärvi, which we locate on the map on a river just north of Oulu in central Finland.  Then further up the same river is Taivalkoski, near a lake called Kuusamo.  So that is where the ancestors of Anna Timo and her mother came from.

Now Anna Timo's father was Adam Timo, and we trace him to Tuoma Timonen II, who came from Pudasjärvi, Finland.  That is on the same river just east of the Gulf of Bothnia.

Adam Timo's mother was Saara Seppanen.  She came from the town of Suomussalmi, located on a lake called Kianta.

So we see that all of Anna Timo's ancestors came from this same general area of Finland.

Now there is one other line of interest:  August Timo. (August was Anna's brother).  He was married to one anmed May Muriel Jangala, and they trace their ancestry back to Tornea, Sweden (or Tornio, Finland). (Are these the same place??)

The river dividing Sweden from Finland is Tornio.  And that is the area where the Jangalas came from.  Information from Donald Turner.
