Died of a gunshot wound to right temple, however the Medical Examiner claimed the gun was in his left hand when he arrived on the scene.  Donald was a career man in the army for nine years, having served in Germany and Korea.  He was cited for heroism against an armed enemy near Taebanggok, Korea and received the Bronze Medal with the letter "V" device for his bravery.  He was survived by his wife Elsa Ruth and 3 children.  There were two other children by a previous marriage of one or both of his wives.  He joined the Army when he was 16 and was still in the Army when he died.
