Notes:
William and Mary sold their land in Middlesex County and moved to Chesterfield Co., VA.

Immigrated into what is now southeastern Stokes Co. (then Surry Co), NC, in 1774 and settled north of present day Pine Hall, along a creek known at the time as Hewins or Hewings Creek. His land comprised 315 acres in the fork of the creek on the western half of a 640 acre tract granted by the State of North Carolina to Joshua Tillery in 1780 -- only twenty miles from where the Battle of Guilford Courthouse was fought in Mar 1781.

Notes:
Ancestral File lists as having married Rene Chastain; possibly confused with the marriage of her sister Anne to Rene.

Mrs. W. O. Absher of NC concluded that Magdalena was a Vernon. If she was, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Vernon of Charlotte Co., VA.

Michael Southern, a descendant of Ford Southern, hypothesizes the relationship to the Ford line represented here. Said line is a French Huguenot line of Albemarle County.
