Jacques FAURE
Veteran - French and Indian War. Fought at the Battle of Great Meadows under George Washington in that part of the Ohio Valley that is now in PA. He was wounded in the eye by a musket ball. In 1770 he was awarded a pension for his wound by the House of Burgesses. Supplied 22 pounds of bacon to the Army in the Revolutionary War. Ancestral File lists as having married Rene Chastain; possibly confused with the marriage of her sister Anne to Rene. Mrs. W. O. Absher of NC concluded that Magdalena was a Vernon. If she was, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Vernon of Charlotte Co., VA. Michael Southern, a descendant of Ford Southern, hypothesizes the relationship to the Ford line represented here.
