H. Scott. James Scott moved to Tennessee 1800 from North Carolina then moved to Mr. Zion, Illinois in 1824. 2. Mt. Zion Church records, Family Register; states James Scott born Aug. 5, 1789 and Elizabeth Bone Scott born 5 Sept 1789, and states they were married 5 Sept 1789 which conflicts with family info. 3. James Scott was first Superintendent of Sunday School. First Sunday School was held in 1831.

Notes: James Milton married Amanda T. Rankin Jan 3, 1839. He rode horseback to Bethany for the wedding and brought his bride home behind him. They lived always on the same farm in Mt. Zion Township and there their fourteen children were born.
