William BONE, III

William bone II born Chester County, PA married and had nine children. In epidemic of 1760-61 lost his wife and two children. In 1765 he took his six remaining children and migrated with friends and relatives to Rowan Co., NC. where his brother John A. Bone Sr had gone 16 years ealier. Whether he remarried is not know. His will of 1787 mentions no wife and there is no record of additonal children.
It is said William Bone IV, served in Revolution war. He married Elizabeth Potts, they had 9 children all of whom with the exception of James moved west before 1820. When William Bone IV died 7 July 1828 his will gave most of the land and the "mansion house" to his sone James (1790 -1874). The tax records indicate that William Bone IV was a large land owner. After his death his widow Elizabeth lived with James until 1833. In that year her son William V of dickson Co., Tenn. took his mother to visit him and his sisters in Tenn. according to a letter written at that time by the wife of William V. (Letter is possession of William Bone of Memphis Tenn.) Elizabeth Potts Bone died in the home of her daughter Artimicia Bone Wasson in Maury Co., Tenn around 1837.
Thomas Bone (1754 - 183x) to North Carolina in 1765; married there and had 6 children; to Wilson Co., Tenn in 1805 and to Davidson Co., Tenn in 1808.
John Bone and James Abner Bone were twins. John bone went with his family to Rowan Co., NC in 1765. He served in North Carolina army dur ing Revolution and for a time served in the South Carolina Militia. In 1787 he and his twin brother, James Abner bone, with their families went to Sumner Co., Franklin, to join their cousin Jon Bone. in 1808 John took his family to Montgomery Co., Tenn. then two years later moved to Hopkins Co., KY. He made one other move with most of his family in 1829 when they settled in Hickman Co., KY. His soldiers pension application was approved for $80 per annum beginning 4 March 1831. It would appear that the last payment was made 9 Oct 1832. However, one genealogist descendant states he was living in Hickman Co. in 1840.
John bone and James Abner Bone were twins. James Abner bone went with his family to Rowan Co. NC 1765. He served in North Carolina army most of the time with his twin brother, John. Soom after married and migrated with his twin brother to Sumner Co. Tenn in 1787. He was quite active in civic affairs. In 1810, James Abner and Priscilla and their 8 children move to that part of Livingston Co., KY which later became Ballard Co. They had two more children in that county. They both died. He died in 1856 his 100th year.
