BIRTH: Certificate verifies date. MARRIAGE: Certifcate verifies date. DEATH: Certificate in my possession ORDINANCES: these were personally done by Jack and Sue Kapp (daughter) and recorded at the time. NOTES: -Vern was an electrician and worked for the Idaho Power Co. for many years in Idaho and Oregon before moving to California where he beonged to the Electrician's Union. -He was a member of a Methodist Congregation in Colton, California and earlier in his life had been baptized into the Baptist Church. -His LDS baptism was performed by a great grandson, Cory VanDrimmelen, and Jack Kapp, a son in-law, who did the baptizing and confirmation. Then Jack did the endowment and was proxy for the sealing of Vern to his wife and parents. -He and Laurel cared for more than 30 foster children over a period of 25 years. Vern had heart problems and died of a heart attack. His body was not found for a week after he died. -Vern had prostrate and lung cancer also.

Then daughter Sue did the endowment and was proxy for the sealing of Laurel to her husband and parents. -She loved to crochet and made many babies and young children happy with the ponchos and sweaters she made. -She and Vern spent 25 years of their lives taking in over 30 foster children whom they dearly loved and cared for. -Laurel developed breast cancer at the age of 70 and received chemo for 6 months. It appeared to be in remission for 5 years and then reoccurred and was the cause of her death at the age of 76.
