NOTES:
    The last born of 12 children. Wife (1) Mabel Anna WILKINSON, gave him three children, one girl and two boys--Sallie Jo PHIPPS, John Kenton PHIPPS and David Wilkinson PHIPPS. Md. wife (2) Mattie Green HINKLE in about the year of 1930 and they were married for about 48 years (no issue). Md. wife (3) Bessie
    HINKLE  , Mattie's cousin, on 10 Oct. 1980 in Maxwelton, West Virginia and they were married until her death only fifteen months later on 5 Jan. 1982 (no issue). Md. (4) Helen E. SHANKLAND, on 29 March 1983 (no issue). * Jerome K.
    PHIPPS   died in the Farragut Health Care Center, Farragut (a suburban city of Knoxville), Tenn. He often used and was referred to by the nickname of "Kent".
