Benjamin F. JENNINGS
-Will of Benjamin F. Jennings (Book A - pages 52, 53, 54) recorded in Carroll County Arkansas, filed Nov 12, 1887. Firstly leaves all to his wife Nancy Jane Jennings while a widow or during her life. Subsequent to Nancy Jane's remarriage all to be sold and be "divided equally with my chldren including my step-daughter Mary Ann Hunt, she to have an equal share with my other children being sixteen in number, including my said step-daughter and that my said wife have an equal share or a child's part of my said Estate." Will signed on July 24th, 1887. Witnesses J.M. Bailey and Robert Speer of Green Forest, Carroll County Ark. Witnesses signed for probate November 7th 1887. Filed November 12, 1887. Believe marriage to Nancy Jane came after marriage to Mary D. Black (I think). 1860 Arkansas census (taken in August 1860) lists Mary D. and children as shown in PAF record. Benjamin F.(Franklin) Jennings grave in Fair Grove Cemetery in Carroll County, Arkansas about two miles from Green Forest, Arkansas. Tombstone reads "Tenn. M.T.D. (Mounted?) Inf. Cherokee War" Seems to be two graves on both sides but no markers. 1850 Tennesee census shows Jennins (Jennings) Benjamin F. age 32, Mary 24, Virginia C. BLOCK (Black? as mother's maiden name thought to be?) 12, James O. Jennins 8, George W. 6, Lucinda Ann 3, Gwin D. 6/12, T T, Wh-740-114. Another source lists Jennings, Benj. 24, Martha 20, T T, Gi-778-921. Prob Tennesee census. However at age 24 could be diff Benjamin Jennings since in 1840 census my Benjamin would have been 20. 2 year age difference.
