16. Adrian Gerretsen VAN VLIET b. circa 1625, Utrecht, Holland, m.circa 1647, in Holland, Aegje (Agatha) Jans SPRUYT, d. after 1687,Kingston, Ulster Co., NY. Adrian died after 1687, Kingston, UlsterCo., NY. Arrived New Amsterdam June 1662 on "de Trouw" (Faith).Adrian Van Vliet and his wife, Agatha Jans Spruyt, and their 5children, 3 sons and 2 daughters, ages 13, 12, 11, 8 & 7 years, all ofUtrecht, Holland, sailed from there 24 Mar 1662 in the ship "Trow"(Faith), under the command of Capt. Jan Jansen Bestevan. They arrivedin New Amsterdam on 13 June 1662 and proceeded up the Hudson River toEsopus, now Kingston. Agatha Spruyt may have been from the SpruytFamily of Kriekenbeck, Holland. In 1663, Machtelda, their daughter,was carried away by the Indians during the terrible burning ofWyltwyck. She was later recovered.
