NAME: Sergant GRIFFIN, Jr. NOTE: Sergant built a yellow frame home on Ohatchee River, but the home was destroyed by fire in the 1950's.
NOTES: 1. This family has not yet been located in the 1870 U.S. Census. It is likely that additional children were born between the census years 1860 and 1870. They had either left home, were married or died before 1 June 1880. 2. Benton County, Alabama was created from the Creek Session of 1832. In 1858 the county changed it's name and the name Benton County was discontinued. On 29 January 1858 it's name was changed to Calhoun County.
He married Averilla Barton Abt 1801 at of Pickens, South Carolina . Averilla Barton was born at Oconee District, South Carolina 16 Jun 1788 daughter of Benjamin Franklin Barton and Dorcas Anderson .
