Francis W. MCCORMICK
Revolutionary War Veteran. Present at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown. Rev. Francis McCormick migrated from Virginia to Kentucky in 1895 and later to Ohio. He moved to Salem in 1806 from Milford. He was born in Frederick Co., Va. He was a Methodist preacher, and lived in the Hamilton County area from 1797. He settled near Milford and took up his land warrant for service in the Revolutionary War. He married Rebecca Easton in 1789 and they had 10 children. He was a member of the Ohio Legislature. Historical records show a marriage date of 1789, though cemetery transcription gives two children born before this date, the first with an "Easton" middle name. Marriage or children's birth dates are in question.
He married Ann Province Abt 1755 at Virginia . Ann Province was born at of Virginia Abt 1734 daughter of Thomas Province and Mrs. Sarah Province .
