DEATH:
    Note on family group sheet indicates that Jacob committed suicide by hanging himself.

RESEARCH NOTES:
    Even though Jacob, was an illegitimate child, he must have had a close relationship with both his natural father and his family and also with his natural mother and her family, which is very unusual.  Usually, the father and his family are never heard from again from the time the pregnancy is discovered, unless of course the parents decide to get married.  But in this case it was found that both jacob's paternal half-brothers (from his father's marriage to Kirsten Christensdatter) as well as his maternal half-brothers (from his mother's marriage to mads Nielsen) as well as his half-sisters and spouses and both his natural father and his step-father were present from time to time as witnesses at his (Jacob's) children's christenings - so apparently there were no hard feelings
