                   RESEARCH NOTE:
      There is a possibility that the census records in either 1860 or 1870 are incorrect regarding Alice, or Allen.  In 1860 an Allen, age 9, is recorded.  In the 1870 census an Alice, age 17 is recorded (and no Allen).  She was not on the previous census as a child and should have been.  There was probably an error on the part of the recorder in hearing the name and then just assuming a sex of the child according to the name.  However, both names are listed in the family so that in the event that both are correct, their temple work can be done.
