Berry died of natural causes Sunday 2:30 am. at the home of a daughter at 1335 N Jordan Ave. Born May 16, 1862 Kanarraville, Iron County to John Williams and Jane Elizabeth Thomas Berry. Married Harriet Aldred 1891. She died 1908. Married Tillie Gardner who later died. Married Isabelle Harris who died in 1938. Former mail carrier. Member LDS Church. Served LDS mission to South Carolina, Arizona, New Mexico. Came to Provo in 1910. Servivors son, daughter, Ray E., Springville; Mrs. A. A. Hackla, Mrs. Stella Fielbaum, both Los Angeles; Mrs. Alberta Ahistedt, Chicago. Mrs. Metella Payne, Provo, Mrs. Josephine Harris, Salt Lake City. 16 grandchildren. 28 great grandchildren. Obit: Additional material in Provo Herald 26 March 1962 p. 4. B. at Kanarraville, Iron Co. etc. He received his education in Southern Utah schools, including Richfield. He lived under the United Order where he weeded gardens and thinned carrots at Harmony and Kanarraville and herded horses and cattle in Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks and on the Escalante Desert. He learned the treachery of the Colorado River as he carried the U.S. Mail between some of the Southern Utah Settlements. He filled a mission in South Carolina at a time when Mormon missionaries were being robbed. He also filled missions in Arizona and New Mexico. He has travelled from Old Mexico to Canada and came to Provo in 1910 where he was engaged in the Dairy business. He md. Harriet Aldred in 1891 in the St. George Temple. She died in 1908. He was married to Tillie Gardner, after her death he married Isabelle Harris. She died in 1938. He lived in Logan a number of years.
