    Mahala was listed as age 88 at her death in 1928, which would make her birth year 1840. The 1900 & 1910 Census lists October 1851 as her birth, making her 77 years old when she died.

NOTES:
    1. Mahala was an only child.
    2. Mahala West (9:1) married James W. Jackson Mooring (8:1) on 6 Feb 1868 at the home of Gabriel Coley.  Gabriel was her step-father, 2nd husband of Elizabeth (Edmundson) West.  Gabriel and Elizabeth married before the 1860 Census as James West was not found there, but Elizabeth and Mahala were, with Gabriel Coley by the 1860 Census.
