William ATKIN

                       Came on Ship John J Boyd with husband, child, father and Brother Henry 23 Apr
    1862. To SLC (via Wisconsin) in John R Murdock Mule Train
                  

                       Crossed in Ship Siddons, landed Philadelphia 2 Apr 1855
    Is in 1860 Census in SLC. In that record "S" is added to surname.
    Florence W. Martineau & John T. Whetten write that Wm went to Utah in 1856 in
    a handcart company
                  

                       This child not previously on Whetten records.  Found on IGI 7-89 RS
                  

                       Crossed the ocean with Sophia Ann in the ship Tuscarora with the Orson Pratt
    company.  Began journey 30 May 1857 and arrived in Philadelphia 3 jul 1857.
    Family tradition is that Levi enlistd as a cabin boy and was not heard from
    again.  One records indicates wife Alice. There is no TIB card on Levi Atkin.

                       Came from England with Father and Sister Adelaide and family
    Is not on IGI at this time - 7-89 RS.
    According to J T Whetten history by himself, Henry remained in Wisconsin for
    several years and then settled in St George, Ut near brother Wm. 4-90 RS
                  

                       Crossed ocean in Ship Tuscarora with brother Levi in the Orson Pratt company.
    Departed England 30 May 1857, arrived Philadelphia 3 Jul 1857.  Arrived SLC
    26 Aug 1864 in John R Murdock Mule Train with son John Thomas, Father William
    Atkin, Sister Adelaide and husband William Laxton and their son John Thomas.
    Sealed 29 July 1865 to Husband James Huff
    Birthdate 4 apr 1844 comes from certified copy of entry of birth

    Is not recorded as being on mule train to SLC with rest of family.
    Does not appear in any Utah census records.  7-89 RS
    IGI   gives ordinance data as: bapt 21 Apr 1954, endowed 14 Jul 1954
   FamilyTree has 21 April 1854 which means he did join the church.
    John T. record states "My Uncle Peter being of a different turn of mind
    never joining the Church.  In 1864 he inlisted in the Union Army.  He
    returned to Wisconsin where he married then moved to California where he
    became quite wealthy.  4-90 RS
