                   NOTES:
    1. Most records indicate that Nicholas was born in 1635, but he came to America then and was bonded - probably at least 15 at that time.
    2. Nicholas owned land in 1855.
    3. Nicholas was in James City, Virginia on 5 November 1635. He moved to Nansemond County, Virginia and was on a tract of land on the Perquimans River on 1 April 1663 in what is now North Carolina. 
    4. The records of Nansemond County were destroyed by fire.
