In the name of God, Amen. I, Frederick Stover of the Township of Haines in the County of Centre, and State of Pennsylvania, Farmer, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, to wit: First, it is my will and I do order, that all my just debts an funeral expences be duly paid and satisfied, as soon as can conveniently--be after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my two sons Henry and Martin the following mentioned tracts of land adjoining each other, that is to say, my mansion tract whereon I now live containing two hundred twenty nine and a half acres and allowance, the two tracts of land I bought of Frederick Stover distiller, for which I hold his deed dated the 18th day of April 1814 containing together seventy four acres & fifty five perches & allowance / one other tract of land I purchased of Jacob Hosterman for which I hold his Deed dated the 20th day of November 1811 containing fifty acres and forty nine perches & allowance / one other tract or piece of land I purchased of Jacob Lutz for which I hold his Deed dated the 21st day of May 1810 containing thirteen acres one hundred sixty one perches & allowance, which said mentioned tracts of land contain in the whole three hundred and sixty eight acres and twenty four perches of allowance, for which said tract of land my said two sons Henry and Martin shall pay at the rate of thirty dollars for each and every acre - my said two sons Henry and Martin are to pay unto my daughter Christina the sum of One hundred dollars on the first day of June 1839 and one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1840, and to pay unto my son Frederick the sum of one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1841 and the sum of one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1842, and to pay unto my daughter Christina the sum of one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1843 and on the first day of June 1844 one hundred dollars, and again to pay unto my son Frederick the sum of one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1845 and one hundred dollars more on the first day of June 1846 so that my son Frederick will have received four hundred dollars, and my said two sons Henry and Martin to pay unto my said Daughter Christina the further sum of six hundred dollars on the first day of June 1847 and if they can not pay the same on that day, they shall pay the interest thereof untill the same be paid, so that she will have received the full sum of one thousand dollars, as her legacy, my said two sons are also to give unto my said daughter Christina one Cow and one Heifer at any time she may commence housekeeping for herself.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my two Sons Jacob and David the following mentioned tracts of land, to wit, one tract of land situate in the township of Haines aforesaid, adjoining land of James Duncan, George Keen, Daniel Kreamer Senr and others containing one hundred thirty eight acres and one hundred forty eight perches which I bought of Daniel Keen, (the said tract being formerly in three several pieces, but for a more particular description thereof, reference must be had to the Deed of the said Daniel Keen dated the fourth day of October 1828[)], one other tract of land I bought of Jacob Kryder for which I hold his deed dated the first day of February 1832 situate in the township of Haines aforesaid and containing eight acres and eight perches neat measure, one other tract of land which I bought of Isaac Hettinger for which I hold his deed dated the fifteenth day of May 1835 situate in said township of Haines, and containing eight acres and fifty two perches of land, and one other tract of land I bought of Paul Bachman for which I hold his deed dated the Seventh day of May 1836 situate in the township of Haines aforesaid, and containing Five acres and fifty three perches neat measure, And also one other tract of land situate in the township of Potter, in the County of Centre aforesaid, adjoining land of Jacob Grossman on the East on the South by land late of Henry Boal on the west by land of Jacob Runckel and on the North and East by land of Peter Durst, containing one hundred thirteen acres and allowance, being the same which I bought of William Earley for which I hold his deed dated the 18th day of May 1808, And containing in the whole two hundred and seventy three acres and one hundred and one perches,--which said five tracts of land my said two sons Jacob and David shall have and hold as tenents in common, out of which said lands the said Jacob and David will pay unto my son in-law George Grove intermarried with my daughter Elizabeth the sum of Four hundred and eighty one dollars and twenty five cents, in the following payments, to wit, the sum of one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1839 and one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1840, and the sum of two hundred and eighty one dollars and twenty five cents on the first day of June 1841, which sum of four hundred eighty one dollars and twenty five cents together with a promisary note I hold against said George Grove, will also amount to one thousand dollars, which will be said daughter Elizabeths legacy in full, my said two sons Jacob and David shall have Possession of the lands herein bequeathed to them the said Jacob and David, situate in the said township of Haines, on the first day of April 1838 and they shall also have possession of the tract of land in Potter township, at the expiration of Daniel Bohns lease. My son David is to pay unto my son Jacob the sum of one hundred dollars, within the three years following the last payment made to George Grove which will be the 1st day of June 1841.---

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Michael the following two tracts of land, the one tract being the same I bought of John Fryberger for which I hold his deed dated the eighth day of May 1818 situate in the township of Haines aforesaid, containing Eighty seven acres and one hundred and twenty four perches and allowance / and being the same tract of land on which my said son Michael has, and is now living, the other tract being the same I bought of John Stover, for which I hold his deed dated the eighth day of June 1820 situate in the township of Haines aforesaid adjoining land of George Moyer, John Stover & John M Beuck Esq and containing twenty one acres and thirty seven perches and allowances / And containing in the whole one hundred and nine acres and allowances / -out of which said lands my son Michael shall pay unto Isaac Bame intermarried with my daughter Catharine the sum of five hundred and four dollars in the following payments, to wit, one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1837, one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1838 one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1839 one hundred dollars on the first day of June 1840 and the sum of one hundred and four dollars on the first day of June 1841 which said sum of five hundred and four dollars, together with a promisary note I hold against my son in-law Isaac Bame will also amount to one thousand dollars, which will be my said Daughter Catharines legacy in full.

My two Sons Henry and Martin shall during my lifetime and the lifetime of my beloved Wife, give unto us the one third of all the winter grain they may raise on the said demised premises, also the one third of the corn and Potatoes they may raise (and to sow one quarter of an acre of flax seed yearly during the lifetime of either of us) and I also reserve as many apples as we may need, and on the death of either myself or my beloved wife, then my said two Sons Henry and Martin shall duly give the one sixth part of the above reserved articles (or the one half of the third part) to the survivor of us, and yearly to find and provide for us two hundred and twenty five pounds of Pork, and fifty pounds of good Beef, during our lifetime, my two sons shall also provide sufficient Hay and feed for two cows and to feed the same with their own cows, and pasture in the same fields with their cows, and also to find sufficient feed for a Horse, and also to pasture the horse in the same fields with their horses and also to find and provide sufficient fire wood and cut the same fit for the Stove, and also carry the same to their room, but in case of sickness and inability to attend or wait on ourselves, they shall provide for us or either of us, everything that may be requisite and nessessary for our comfort and support. I also reserve sufficient house room in the house I now live in--

Item. I also give and bequeath unto my two sons Henry and Martin all my Blacksmith tools, my Horse, my Carriage, and Harness, my eight day clock and case, one of my milk cows, Stove and Pipe.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my four sons Henry, Martin, Jacob, and David, my two road waggons, Ploughs, Harrows, Horses, Cows, Young Cattle, and sheep (except three sheep which I reserve for my daughter Christina) and all the rest of my farming utensils to be equally divided to and among my four sons above named, and if they can not agree on the division as aforesaid, they may choose three disinterested persons to divide the same among them, my said five sons Henry, Martin, Jacob and David and Michael shall give their promisary notes for the several sums to be paid to their respective sisters as directed in this my will, after my decease, and my Executors hereinafter named, or any one of them, shall have full power and authority, to sign, seal, execute and acknowledge all such deeds of conveyance as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and assigning the lands herein bequeathed to my Sons Henry and Martin as tenents in Common, to my sons Jacob and David as tennents in common, and to my son Michael.

And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my son Michael, and John Hosterman to be the Executors of this my Will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring this, and no other, to be my last will and testament.

I, Frederick Stover the within named testator, do hereby make and publish this Codicil, to be added to my last will and testament in manner following, to wit,

Whereas in the second Item of the foregoing Will (I directed and ordered that my son David should pay unto my son Jacob the sum of one hundred dollars, within the three years following the last payment to George Grove) which said clause I do hereby revoke, and declare null and void, and my son David shall be exonarated from paying any part of the said one hundred dollars whatsoever, unto my son Jacob.---

In the reservation with my two Sons Henry and Martin in the foregoing will, they are bound to sow one quarter of an acre with Flax seed, yearly during the lifetime of either of us, they shall also clean the said flax and Hackle the same ready for Spinning--I also reserve fifteen pounds of good wool which my said two sons Henry and Martin are to give unto us yearly during the lifetime of either of myself or my Wife. I also reserve the toe that may be Hackeled out of the above flax, that is to be sowed by my said two sons Henry and Martin. I also reserve the one third of all the Winter grain, the one third of all the Corn, and one third of the Potatoes, my two sons Henry and Martin may raise yearly, during my life time and my beloved wife, and on the death of myself, or my beloved Wife, which may first happen, then my two sons Henry and Martin shall only give the one sixth part of the above named articles (or the one half of the third part) to the survivor of us.---

I do hereby alter the sums in the following manner, my two sons Henry and Martin are to give unto us, yearly, that is to say, during my life time, and the life time of my wife, the one third of--all the winter grain, the one third of all the Corn and the one third of all the Potatoes, they may raise on the said demised premises, during the lifetime of the survivor of either of us--------All the other reservations in my will heretofore reserved, commencing with the apples and the Pork & Beef, and all that follows thereafter, shall be binding on my two sons Henry and Martin--I also reserve during my lifetime or the lifetime of my Wife, thirty five pounds of sugar yearly which my two sons Henry and Martin is to give unto us or the survivor of us.----

I do order and direct that all my personal property of whatsoever kind (except the bequests heretofore by me made) after my decease, and the decease of my wife, shall be divided to and among all my children share and share alike. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.
