Notes:
                       Sir Robert Lawrence accompanied King Richard 1, Coeur de Lion, in his famous
    expedition to Palistine & signalized himself in the memorable siege of St. Jean
    d' Acre, 1191, by planting the banner of the Cross on the battlement of that
    stronghold; for which he was Knighted by King richard & also received a coat of
    Arms. The family became eminant in England. In Falkner's history of Chelsea
    it is said:  "The Lawrences were allied to all that was great and illustrious;
    cousins to the ambitious Dudley, Duke of Norfolk; to the Earl of Waarwick; to
    Lord Guilford dudley, who perished on the scaffold; to that short lived
    Royalty, Lady jane Grey; to the brilliant Leicester, who set two Queens at
    variance; and to Sir Ph;illip Sidney, who refused a crown.
