James FULWELL
SOURCES: 1. Parish Register St. Andrew, Pershore, Worcester, England (FHL#818,450)
AFN: MC 7C-6N
AFN: B68S-27 SOURCES: See sources listed for husband, Richard Robins. Family group sheet for parents, James Fulwell and Elizabeth Greaves, prepared by William H. Lomax, Salt Lake City, UT. SPELLING OF NAME: Name used for christening was Nancy Fullwell. She used Ann (or Anne) as her given name, however. It was spelled as Anne on the marriage record, but she apparently could not read or write and signed the marriage record with her mark. The surname apparently was spelled either as Fulwell or as Fullwell, depending upon who was doing the recording. BIRTH AND CHRISTENING: TIB Card shows birthplace as Peusham, Gloucester, Engl. and Peusham is an obvious misspelling of Pensham, a hamlet within St. Andrew's Parish in Penshore, Worcestershire, England--not to be confused with Pershore, Worcestershire, England, which is served by Holy Cross Church and is located immediately to the north of Penshore. The birthdate of 16 June 1781-2 was added to the TIB card by a different typewriter. According to Gordon Robins, the records of St. Andrew's Parish show her christening on 23 Jun 1782 as Nancy Fullwell, daughter of James and Elizabeth of Pensham. BAPTISM: Since the Apperly LDS Branch records indicate two defferent baptisms for Ann Robins (one born 1821 and baptized 1 Apr 1840 by Daniel Browett, died 1 Jan 1841; one born 1820 and baptized 28 Jun 1840 by Edward Phillips, rebaptized 31 Jan 1847 by John Johnson), one could be for this person. More likely, the first one is for her daughter and the second is for daughter-in-law Ann or Anna Johnson, wife of son Thomas Robins, who was 27 when coming to the USA in 1848. EMIGRATION TO THE USA AND CROSSING PLAINS TO UTAH: See notes for husband, Richard Robins. After her husband died in St. Louis, she continued her travels to Utah with her son Thomas and his family, spending her last years in Kaysville, UT. DEATH AND BURIAL: According to Gordon Robins, she is buried in the plot of her son James in the Kaysville-Layton Memorial Cemetery. Her burial is the first entry listed in the records of that cemetery.
