Abner Fogg, Esq., was very prominent in church and town affairs, being Assessor in 1745, 1753, 1757, 1761, and 1765; Surveyor in 1748 and 1750; Selectman in 1751-2. During the French and Indian War, he was made Captain in 1757, and commanded the 5th Co. of the Cavalry consisting of 45 men, 1754-1763. In No. Hampton, June 7, 1776, he signed the Association Test. His will was made April 28, 1788 and entered for probate Feb. 3, 1789. He gives his children 5 shillings and his wife the rest of the estate. She was made executrix but refused the trust."
