Went to New France in the spring of 1646 because he entered into a 36 month
contract with Noel JUCHEREAU in 1645 to work as the miller for Juchereau's farm
(Les Chatelets) in France.
He First bought a half acre of land 04 DEC 1651 near Sillery (Quebec City) from
Charles LEGARDEUR de TILLY.
In 1646, Jacques brought with him a flute that has been kept in the family at
least until 1934.  In 1934, Mr. Robert Goulet of Winnipeg, songwriter &
composer of "Gigue de la Riviere Rouge", was said to have "Guarded it
Jealously". (Source - La Liberte, Winnepeg newspaper - Wednesday)
In 1666, hired Francois LABATTIER as a domestic helper.
In 1681, owned a rifle, a horse & 5 domestic animals.  At this time, there were
only 96 horses in New France.
On 18 OCT 1664, elected as churchwarden for the church at L'Ange Gardien.
