    BIOGRAPHY: Some years after their marriage they removed to a point near 
    Skaneateles, New York where William opened a flour, feed and grist mill, an 
    enterprise which became prosperous. Most of the sons followed their father  in
    adopting his occupation as a miller. William's activities were not  confined,
    however, to milling as he served as a clergyman of the Methodist  Episcopal
    denomination simultaneously.

                       BIOGRAPHY: Lived in Auburn, New York where he was a miller; he lost his life
    in 1857 as the result of injuries received when his clothing caught in the
    belting of his mill and he was drawn into the machinery until he managed to
    stop this, although suffering a fracture of his ancle, by thrusting his foot
    against the swiftly moving wheel; his death followed a few days later from the
    injuries.
