Notes:
BIOGRAPHY: At burning of Schenectady he was carried captive to Canada by the Indians with whom he remained as late as 1699 acquiring a perfect knowledge of their language. After his return he was appointed interpreter of the Province for the five nations, which he held until he deceased in 1740. His salary was 30 lbs per annum until 1724 when it was raised to 60 lbs and so continued. This man of remarkable experiences left surviving him two children whose descendants are numerous and among the most respectable citizens of the community and state. He owned and occupied the property on which the Myers House building now stands.
