                   RESEARCH NOTE:
Many pedigrees give Sarah Herrick's parents as Amos Herrick and Deborah Fillmore, while a close examination of the dates make this impossible.  When listed with these parents, Sarah's birthdate is either given as 1771, before Amos and Deborah's marriage in 1776, or as 17 May 1795, the same birthdate as Sarah's last daughter Alta.  The alternative pedigree is more likely, and gives the parents as John Herrick and Sarah Smith, with dates that fit better.  This connection is supported by the fact that the earliest temple dates (1877) for this couple seal an Ashael Adams to Sarah Herrick, daughter of John Herrick and Sarah Smith.
