Notes:
Short stature. After marraige, lived in Ogden and Park City; got
tuberculosis from working in the silver mines. Also had small pox there.
Moved to a farm four miles outside of Rexburg in April 1904. (by rail).
The family later moved to Nampa, Idaho, where he worked for the
railroad and later the lumber yard. While in Nampa, he served in the
bishopric in the Nampa First Ward and she was Primary president. The
family then moved to Pocatello and started the Model Bakery and owned
their first car, a Maxwell (he would holler 'whoa - whoa') The bakery
failed (partner problems) so the family moved to Weiser to farm on Dead
Ox flat (80 acres); they lost the farm and moved into Weiser where he
worked in the Electric Bakery. He then moved to Huntington, Oregon, and
then to LaGrande where he helped the boys get a new bakery started and
then to Baker to help that bakery get started. He died suddenly - the
story goes that, as he was walking past the mortuary, he gasped and sank
to the sidewalk - typical of him - he didn't want to be a bother to anyone
    - a beautiful way to go but hard on his wife, Amelia.

Being oldest, he worked outside the home at a young age - in the silver
mines in Park City at age 15 - to help support the family. With the help
of his family, he served a mission to Holland about 1908 then started in
the bakery business in Vale, OR. where he met and married Rella Kimball
in the SLC Temple 5 JUne 1913 (she was from Nampa). In addition to the
bakery, he tended honey bees. He and his brother, Frank, bought bakeries
in LaGrande and Baker and Huntington. He moved to Huntington to try to
save that enterprise. All but the Baker bakery were lost during the
Depression. It became a success due to his energies and management.
