sub-district of Elswick on 30th May 1924. Ronald Brown, born on 24th
May 1924, registered at entry no. 187 in my register book no. 21A -
    registrar - Godfrey.

Was in the army, a green beret (commando), before getting married and
went in that capacity to the Sudan and Israel and the Middle East. Was
5ft 8in tall, brown eyes, dark comlexion, dark hair. Had several different
jobs throughout his life, two being a taxi-driver and a master plumber
(in that capacity he worked a lot for the North-Eastern Electricity
Board). He also used to enjoy working on his cars and doing them up. For
the last several years of his life he was on permanent sick benefit as he
was considered not well enough to work. Used to smoke a lot but finally
gave up due to health problems. In later years he contracted emphysemia
(for the last 15 years of his life), had 3 heart attacks and 2 strokes, one
of which left him temporarily paralised to some degree (at that time he
found it difficult to work his mouth muscles to be able to drink
properly). He died in Douglas's and his home during the night and it
appeared that he'd been trying to reach for his tablets. He had his fourth
heart attack. Roger found him the following afternoon. and had to break
into the flat because he couldn't get in. He was cremated at The Brighton
Crematorium, Woodvale, on the Lewes Road in Brighton near to Bear Road,
on 9 DEC1987. Roger, Douglas, Mummy and myself later sprinkled and
buried his ashes on the family grave at the Elswick Road cemetry.

Roger did the baptismal and endowment work in September 1989 when he
was in the MTC at the London Temple. Susan did the sealing to parents
work as well as the work for his parents in March 1995 in the St. George
    Temple.
