                       BIRTH:   In a sealed, brown Bible/Common Prayer Rites and Ceremonies,
    the gift of Philip Lord Wharton, is an inscription on the inside saying
    "given to John Lamb, aged 14 years in 1840", making his year of birth
    1825/6.  But in the 1851 census, his birth is 1827/8 (if it is the correct
    family then).

    of Person Interred: Jane Walker, age 71 years of 198 Gloucester Road. No.
    61777 in register of burials, grave no. 183, section PNG.  Date of Death:
    April 13.  Date fixed for burial: April 16.  Fees paid for Interment,
    purchase of exclusive right of burial in perpetuity, preparation of grant
    and stamp duty, (additional) excavation, tolling bell, ministers fees.  A
    total of 7 pounds and 8 shillings.  Paid by daughter, Eveline.    2) & 3)
    Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial (all her heirs and 'assigns' can also be
    buried here), and covering letter.    4)  William R. Pyle, Granite Merchant
    of Elswick Road, Newcastle on Tyne.  Fees for supplying and fixing in
    Elswick Cemetery, Marble Scroll Headpiece and kerbs, as per quotation
    [In loving memory of {my dear mother} Jane Walker who died april 13th
    1925 aged 71 years.  Also of William Henry beloved son of the above who
    fell if action in France on June 27th 1916 aged 26 years]; fees paid to
    city treasurer for permission to erect memorial;  for cutting and filling
    inscription with imperishable lead, as per quotation;  for cutting and
    filling with lead 12 extra letters viz:-(My Dear Mother.). total 40 pounds
    and 18 shillings.  Dated 4th October 1927.

    There was also some of Jane Lamb's embroidery, aged 13 in 1867 but it
    was stolen.
