James Coleman HOLTZCLAW

                   NOTES:
    1. Ruby Frances Shirley daughter of Maude legally adopted James Franklin Holtzclaw.
    2. James was born in Alma, GA. His dad was in his 60's and his mom was abt. 34. After the birth, James' mother ran off. James was about 1-2 years old. His father relocated the family after the mother left, but soon after, his dad died in an accident at work. James went to live with some "old people" (apparently relatives) for several years and grew to love them greatly. The "old lady" died and the "old man" couldn't take care of James alone, so although they were very close, James was sent to live with Ruby at age 11. At age 13, Ruby adopted him, but James was always close to the old man whom he called "Papa." The old man died while James was in Vietnam. Years later a truck driver came through that said that James' mother had died. No date or place was available.
