Centennial History of Susquehanna County, PA, Stocker, 1887: John Denny was a doctor, tavern-keeper, store-keeper, drover, farmer, and weaver. He was a good weaver and wove bird's eye coverlets where he used 32 treadles. John Denny moved to Gibson Twp in Feb 1814 from Dutchess County, New York. Will dated: 30 April 1832, Susquehanna County, New York, Will probated on 18 July 1835.
Note: The inscription on the headstone fo Esther Corbett Denny may read April 5, 1858, rather than 1853. The last number is difficult to discern.
