                   Possible alternate parents:  Some listings show a John or Jonathan Peter, married to a Susanna, as parents of Nancy. The Richard Peter Sr. theory is supported by the fact that Richard's other daughter, Alice Mumford Peter, married John Shewmaker's brother.  Both possible parents are brothers, and so Nancy's paternal granparents are assumedly correct, no matter the father.  Further research is reccomended.
