NOTES: 1. Died at Haun's Mill Massacre. Brother was Tarlton Lewis who was in the advance company with Brigham Young to enter the Sale Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. 2. No other children
NOTES: One of the advance company of saints with Brigham Young to enter the Salt Lake Valley on 24 July 1847. Married Malinda Gimlin and they had eight children. Accepted the gospel, moved to Nauvoo in 1839, ordained bishop of the 4th Ward by Joseph and Hyrum Smith, a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker. Sent to Beaver Valley by Brigham Young, discovering large deposits of lead and iron in the surrounding mountains, which led to the establishment of the mining industry in the area. He married Mary Moss 4 Mar 1800 at Georgia . Mary Moss was born at Georgia 29 Oct 1775 daughter of Samuel Moss and Rachel Julian .
