Vera Boren's history of Christian Peterson says that Jens Thompson Balle and his first wife immigrated in 1854 and were part of the Hans Peters Olson company, settling in Ephraim.
Vera Boren's history of Christian Peterson states that Jens Balle was made Presiding Elder (Bishop) of the Ephraim 4th Ward on March 3, 1859.
